Tampa area enjoys Asian Street Food Festival

Considered the largest festival of its kind in Florida, the Summer Vibes Asian Street Food Festival will be coming to the Tampa area in early August.

The two-day Asian and Pacific Islanders' event will offer over 75 Asian street food vendors selling goodies such as pho, dumplings, Korean BBQ, and boba (small black gummy tapioca pearls simmered in brown sugar syrup). Desserts will also be available for purchase.

Along with food, the venue will have the traditional energetic lion dance that will kick off the event to ensure good luck. The backdrop will be a giant lantern display, and the crowds will be entertained by DJs, live music, and cultural dance performances.

Everyone is invited to a pho eating contest, with pho being a Vietnamese soup made of noodles, broth, and beef. Kid-friendly activities will include a giant water slide.

Red Envelopes that traditionally are filled with money will be given away. Other activities will include raffles, pop-up shops, stilt walkers, and other food challenges. Colorful photo opportunities will be sprinkled throughout the venue. Stationery printers often use pictures from events like this in their summer-themed card sets.

This year's Summer Vibes Asian Steet Food Festival will take place on the August 2 and 3 weekend from 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm at England Brothers Park, 5010 Dave McKay Way, Pinellas Park. Admission is $7.
