Tampa supports 5K charity run

Going into Pieces Movement Inc. will be holding its Unlock the Ties that Bind 5k Run and Walk here in Tampa in mid-June.

The event will be centered on supporting teen fathers, men struggling with mental health challenges, human trafficking survivors, and those overcoming other adversities. Adult registration will be $23.18 or $12.51 for kids from ages five through ten, which includes a T-shirt and medal. Those not in attendance can also make a donation via the Eventbrite listing.

Sponsorships begin at the $250 Community level, continue with the $1,068.91 Empower and $2,500 Advocate levels, and end with the $7,500 Legacy level. Legacy sponsors need to get their logos to the printers before any T-shirt and banner printing gets underway.

Check-in will begin at 8:30 am. Zambia Queen Zee Falana will hold a short Zumba session from 9:30 am to 9:50 am and the run/walk will begin at 10:00 am. A Recovery and Refreshment Zone will open at 11:00 am followed by testimonies and sponsor acknowledgements at 11:15 am.

At 12:15 pm, Denise Moore will head connections and healing conversations circles, and the circles will close at 12:45 pm when a group photo will be taken. The event will end around 1:00 pm.

Unlocks the Ties that Bind 5k Run/Walk will take place on Saturday, June 13 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at Al Lopez Park, 4810 North Himes Avenue.
