Miramar residents have a unique opportunity to experience the Caribbean from afar when the city hosts a celebration of Trinidadian culture.
The island nation of Trinidad and Tobago immerses visitors in a culture that values soca dancing and steel drums. However, locals don’t need to book a flight for the experience. Miramar Commissioner Maxwell B. Chambers has announced the Trinidad and Tobago Independence Celebration 2025, a one-day event celebrating the contributions of the island nation.
This late August event highlights the 63rd year of independence for the nation and will feature traditional Trinidadian soca dancing, a live performance by a Trinidadian soca queen, and traditional Trinidadian food. Festival attendees are encouraged to wear Trinidadian colors and even bring the national flag if they wish. Events like this are often promoted using flyer printing or other printing services.
Trinidad and Tobago is the southernmost island country in the Caribbean. Various European countries laid claim to Trinidad and Tobago over the years, but it eventually ended up in British hands. The country achieved its independence from Britain in 1962.
The Trinidad and Tobago Independence Celebration 2025 will be held on Saturday, August 30, in Miramar's Vizcaya Park. The park is located at 14200 Southwest 55th Street. The event will occur from 6:00 to 10:00 PM, and admission is free, although paid parking fees start at $23, with VIP parking available as well.
