The Miramar Business Academy (MBA) will expand its business program to include elementary and middle school students in August.
The Jr. Miramar Business Academy Program is an educational experience where kids will be introduced to business concepts and have a space to develop creative ideas. Students who take part in the program will get to join a pitch competition and have a vendor space at the Youth Business Marketplace. Children can also use courses to learn about financial literacy, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The event will be held at the Alexandra P. Davis Multi-Service Complex.
The MBA program was co-made by the Economic Development & Housing Department and SCORE Broward in 2023. The academy's goal is to help aspiring entrepreneurs by showing them about how to start and run successful businesses. Several classes are offered by the MBA, such as Financial Projections and Profit Forecast, Validating Your Business Concept, and Strategic Hiring for Sustainable Growth.
The children’s business program will be held on Saturday, August 8 and Saturday, August 15. Each lesson will take place from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The Youth Business Marketplace will be on Saturday, September 12. There is no cost for children to join the business courses, though they must register in advance. Communities that hold business-related programs like this may use printing services to attract more attention to their courses.
