City of Miramar hosts contractor fair

Real estate development continues to abound in Florida, and the Miramar city government is sponsoring an event to help local contractors develop their businesses.

The City of Miramar’s 4th Annual BID Contractor Fair will be held in mid-November. The six-hour networking event is an opportunity for small business owners to learn of contracting opportunities with 20 cities, 15 various government agencies, and 10 prime contractors. Business professionals can network with other contractors regarding upcoming work, as well as attend training sessions on apprenticeships and workforce readiness, and share tips with other leaders. The Business Industry Development (BID) program particularly focuses on boosting small businesses owned by women and minority groups. Business Cards and Promotional Products are often useful at business networking events.

According to their website, Miramar’s Economic Development and Housing Department is active in several key areas of business development, including workforce development and retention, helping entrepreneurs integrate data into managing their businesses, and providing chances to network.

The 4th Annual BID Contractor Fair will be held on Thursday, November 13, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The location is Building J at the Miami Dade College School of Justice, located at 11380 Northwest 27th Avenue in Miami. There is no admission cost to attend, but registration is required and can be accomplished through the Eventbrite website. Due to the popular nature of this event, attendees are encouraged to register as soon as possible. Parking is free.
