Like gifts and family cheer, music is central to the Christmas season. Classical music lovers in Miramar have a chance to enjoy one of the most popular ballets ever written when a production of Swan Lake comes to town in late December.
Swan Lake, often associated with the holiday season, will be performed by International Ballet Stars. The two-act performance will feature choreography by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov. The ballet tells a story of love, magic, and triumph, accompanied by the iconic musical score of Romantic-era composer Peter Tchaikovsky. The performance will include over 200 custom hand-painted set elements, with performances from an international host of dancers, representing Moldova, Spain, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, Romania, the United Kingdom, Brazil, and the United States. The troupe of dance professionals will be led onstage by principal dancers from Ukraine. Flyer printing is often helpful in promoting stage performances.
Russian composer Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky lived and wrote music from 1840 to 1893. He is most known for his theatrical music, and his ballets are considered by many to represent the height of the form. Some of his other ballets include The Nutcracker and Romeo & Juliet.
The performance of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake will occur on Tuesday, December 30, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. The performance venue is the Miramar Cultural Center at 2400 Civic Center Place in Miramar. Ticket prices for adults range from about $38 to $88, depending on the seating section; tickets for children vary from $34 to $80. Attendees can purchase tickets at several online ticket outlets or at the Miramar Cultural Center website.
