Special photographic exhibit at Miramar museum

Currently on exhibit in the Ansin Family Art Gallery located at the Miramar Cultural Center in Arts Park is an exclusive photographic collective featuring President Barack Obama.

Historic moments capturing President Obama’s two terms in office, and highlights of the same of Wayne Messam, the Mayor of Miramar, since his election will be showcased. Pete Souza, Chief White House Photographer and Director of the White House Photo Office, was in charge of selecting the photographs for the exhibit.

The President and the Mayor have followed parallel paths in their respective offices, which enabled the exhibit to be secured. President Obama was elected the first African-American President of the United States of America, while Mayor Messam was elected the first African-American Mayor in the City of Miramar.

According to Director of Cultural Affairs, Stephen Kantrowitz, the timing and the exhibit will enable the City to reflect on both the celebrations of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Black History Month. It shows how African-Americans have made many contributions to the country and emphasizes their potential to make many more in the future.

A Print company may be used to Print a commemorative book with photographs of the exhibit so that those who do get the opportunity to see it will have a remembrance of it.

The exhibit will run until February 29.
