Mayor Wayne Messam invites all Miramar residents to take part in the Annual Health and Fitness Fair.
Miramar Town Center will be busy this March as Mayor Messam leads the way in the annual community fitness event. The Town of Miramar is joined this year by Memorial Hospital Miramar, Joe DiMaggio’s Children’s Hospital and Aetna as the sponsors of the activity-filled morning.
Included in the fair is a free 3K run or walk, and a timed 5K run. Children can take part in a yoga session designed for them or climb the rock wall. An obstacle course for children, as well as face painting, games, and other activities are planned.
Adults will also have a variety of yoga sessions and cooking demonstrations to enjoy, among other activities. The sponsors will offer several health screenings for all guests, including blood pressure readings and risk assessments for osteoporosis. Attendees qualify for free giveaways and Promotional Products from the sponsors.
There is no fee to attend Mayor Messam’s Annual Health and Fitness Fair. The timed 5K has a registration fee of $15 for early registrations and $20 after February 25, and a $30 fee for registration on the day of the event. Interested parties can preregister at the Split-Second Timing website.
The fair will take place on March 2 from 6:00 AM to Noon at the Miramar Town Center at 2300 Civic Center Place.
