Miramar gets growing

The second part of a children’s workshop focusing on the essentials of gardening will be held in Miramar this December.

The event is the ‘Survival of the Seedling Challenge’, and it is aimed at children 5 years and older. At a previous class in September, participants were giving the task of taking care of a seedling plant as it grows and matures. Attendees were asked to keep a weekly record of the progress of their seedling’s growth.

Coming up soon is the second part of this series put on by the Miramar Library and Miramar Community Garden. The workshop is led by professional gardener, Rita Brown.

The initial session focused on giving students seedlings and information on how to care for them. The second class serves as a follow-up session where students may bring their grown seedlings, and engage in discussions with other children on the progress of caring for their seedlings. Additionally, those in attendance will have the opportunity to earn awards for their work.

The event will be free for all to attend. Printing services can offer the best options when creating informative material for events like this.

This event takes place on Saturday, December 10 at the Miramar Library, which is located at 2050 Civic Center Place, Miramar, Florida. It begins at 12:00 pm and ends at 1:30 pm.
