The Uniting Broward Community Showcase, organized by the Broward County Sheriff's Office, is coming up at the end of the month.
The event is designed to help promote a feeling of unity and security among all residents. A day of family fun and activities, it is being sponsored by the Sherrif's office in conjunction with other local police and fire officials. The outdoor festival is designed to help bring everyone in the community together in celebration of diversity.
There will be plenty of entertainment and events for everyone to enjoy. Food vendors will be onsite, fun play areas for children are planned, and many multicultural performances are scheduled. Local emergency teams, K-9 officers, and fire and rescue teams will also be staging multiple demonstrations during the event. Anyone interested in becoming a police officer or firefighter for the Broward County area is welcome to come meet with the recruiters that will be in attendance.
Admission to the outdoor fair is free and everyone is welcome to attend. The event will take place from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 29 at the Central Broward Regional Park located at 3700 NW 11th Place in Lauderhill. Local business owners that wish to contribute to the event with promotional items, or become a part of the day, can contact Deputy Melissa Metcalfe by calling 954-321-5010 or contact through email at Melissa_Metcalfe@sheriff.org.
