Florida to celebrate black history with festival

Next month, the 3rd annual staging of Juneteenth for Joy will take place at the Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park in Dania Beach, Florida.

Juneteenth for Joy was created by Nerissa Street as a safe space for people of color to celebrate their culture. Juneteenth is a federal holiday to commemorate the emancipation of a group of slaves in Galveston, Texas. The celebration serves as a reminder and acknowledgment of the trauma that enslaved African Americans and their descendants went through.

The festival is an opportunity for people to come together and celebrate black freedom. Individuals from other cities in Broward County, such as Pompano Beach, Carver Ranches, and Miramar, Florida, can attend events like these.

The event is free for all, but admission to the park is $6. There is a VIP option that costs $10 and includes entry into the park and a gift. Poster printing is a versatile and effective way for event organizers to provide information about festivals or events in the days and weeks before they take place.

Juneteenth for Joy will be held on Sunday, June 19, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. The park is at 6503 North Ocean Drive in Dania Beach, Florida 33004. Those interested can visit the event website or email juneteenthforjoy@gmail to find out more information.
