City to evaluate Miramar project's revised plans

City officials report that following a recent ownership reorganization, the newly appointed leaders overseeing the delayed North Beach Miramar Event Center endeavor are aiming to recommence construction in the near future.

Speaking to journalists in San Clemente, Jonathan Lightfoot, the Director of Economic Development, revealed the city was presented with revised project plans last week. These plans outline the transformation of making the esteemed Miramar Theatre an event center, while the adjacent bowling alley is set to become a vibrant food hall.

Earlier, the staff had granted permits for the two buildings; however, it is reported that the former contractor of the project failed to fulfill the permit fee requirement, resulting in a hindrance to the construction process, as stated by Lightfoot. Permits tend to feature the issuing authority’s Logo Design.

Lightfoot sent an email to the press that read:

“We will be reviewing these right away—to make sure that they are both consistent with the approved entitlements/designs and also with the current version of the Building Code (which has been updated since their prior submittal). We are anxious to get this site back into an active construction zone.”

Miramar Food Hall Real Estate LLC has engaged the services of Mark Williams from MWC Commercial General Contractors. Williams will be responsible for project management, which involves collaborating with the architects on the revised project plans, enlisting an engineering business tasked with analysing the current situation and overseeing the teams that will recommence work.
