Presented as a new worker housing development, the project is located on 34th Street and marks a major milestone in the city's fight against housing instability.
The project is a partnership between the Florida Community Development Corporation and the city. It will include 66 townhouse homes designed to give first-time potential homeowners affordable housing options.
Commissioner Yvette Coulbourne emphasized the development's significance, saying:
“This marks the laying of the foundation for dreams and possibilities of homeownership while shaping the future of the City.”
Modis Architects, United Way of Broward County, BB Americas Bank, Artifex Construction, and Zamora are among the partner agencies supporting the program, making up a wide coalition taking aim at the housing issue.
The townhomes will come in four different unit styles with two or three bedrooms. The homes will have modern architecture, garages, balconies, and personal backyards. Their square footage will range from 1,200 to 1,500. Brochure printing is a convenient way of visualizing large projects like this.
The Historic Miramar Aquatics Complex and the Vernon E. Hargray Youth Enrichment Center are two nearby attractions that will be advantageous to residents. An almost one-acre park with a walking track, shady spots for lounging, and a playground for kids will also be part of the development.
