A sign announcing the arrival at a new WaWa store at the site of the former Citizens First Bank has had Leesburg residents wondering when construction would be completed. It was recently announced that the store is expected to open by the end of 2019.
WaWa which first opened a store in the area of Leesburg and The Villages in 2007 has two other new stores in the area. A store located at County Road 46 and U.S. Highway 27/441 recently opened and another location further down the road opposite The Villages Regional Hospital will open by the end of summer.
WaWa stores have become increasingly popular in the state of Florida with dozens of locations opening in the past year alone. Groundbreaking ceremonies are popular with the chain and stores in the area have recently held ceremonies. Printing services such as banner printing can be helpful in announcing groundbreaking ceremonies and grand openings.
The first WaWa store opened in 1964. The chain has become well known for their groceries and handmade sandwiches making it a popular stop for area residents and workers needing a meal to go. The privately-owned company uses a flying Canada goose in its widely recognized Logo Design.
The steel frame will be put up soon at the newest Leesburg site and once that framing is done, the onsite activity will increase significantly. The new WaWa store will be located at the intersection of Griffin Road and U.S. Highway 441.
