Pizza eatery expands in Leesburg area

A popular pizza restaurant near Leesburg is opening a second location just months after the grand opening of its first.

Construction is well underway to erect the newest Piesanos Stone Fired Pizza restaurant. The eatery is going up at 3539 Wedgewood Lane in The Villages and is located within Southern Trace. Construction details include an upscale bar, designer décor, and top-quality kitchen equipment.

Piesanos’ granite stone pizza oven is its cornerstone kitchen tool. According to the company’s website, the chain uses fresh ingredients and high-quality cheeses, with pizza dough and all sauces made from scratch.

Jerry Roberts, one of the co-owners at Piesanos, recently summarized the laid-back vibe the eatery strives for:

“Whether you are looking for a quick lunch, a cozy dinner to catch up with friends, or picking up a meal to-go for the family, Piesanos is your place.”

Joel Mills, originally a resident of Staten Island, moved to Florida in 1994 and began building his dream of owning an Italian restaurant. He and his wife opened their first eatery, Gator Pizza by the Slice, near the University of Florida. In 2009, the Mills teamed up with three more experienced restaurateurs, and their collaboration resulted in opening the flagship Piesanos in Gainesville. The chain now boasts 14 locations throughout Florida. Banner printing and flyer printing are useful services to support grand openings.
