Leesburg race to benefit local police

The Leesburg Blue Foundation will organize a community race in October at the Leesburg International Airport.

The Leesburg Blue Foundation 5K is a unique racing experience where people can get to run along the runways at the Leesburg International Airport. The race is chip-timed, though walkers are also encouraged to participate in the event. The money earned from the event will support the Leesburg Blue Foundation, which is a group that offers counseling to members of the Leesburg Police Department, promotes law enforcement career opportunities, and fosters positive connections between police officers and the community.

Companies that want to help the Leesburg Police Department and support the event can become sponsors for the race. There are multiple tiers that cost between $250 and $5,000. Some of the benefits of supporting the race include online recognition on the race registration page, social media acknowledgments, and logo representation on the race T-Shirts. The higher tiers offer benefits like getting to put promotional items in the race packets.

The Leesburg Blue Foundation’s race will be held on October 3 at 7:00 pm. The cost to join the event is $35 per person, though prices will increase after September 11. The virtual version of the 5K will cost $40 to enter. Local groups that hold fundraising races like this may use banner printing services to get more people interested in joining their athletic events.
