The annual International Festival of Ballet will return next month to Miami, just east of Coral Gables.
Recognized as one of the most successful ballet festivals in the country, the event showcases talent from across the state, the country, and the world.
Established in 1993, the Miami Hispanic Ballet Company began as a not-for-profit advocacy group for area dancers of Hispanic descent. The organization continues to promote and present large ballet performances featuring high-quality artists.
The festival has given local dancers the opportunity to take the stage alongside ballet stars from Latin America, Europe, Asia, and other parts of the US.
The event includes a celebration of the brightest emerging talent. Youth Week will feature summer students and top performing young artists in a showcase of the next generation of dancers, concluding with a dance marathon.
The festival will also include contemporary performances, highlighting artists who will present fresh, modern and inventive choreography.
Classical week at the festival will pay tribute to traditional ballet, focusing on solo artists and time-honored ballet repertoire.
