Moonlight at Fairchild is a special celebration of the harvest moon to be held next month at the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Coral Gables.
On one of the few nights the gardens stay open after dark, there will be live music, signature drinks, extended grounds admission and telescope moon and star gazing.
Also known as the barley moon, the harvest moon is the full moon that rises closest to the autumnal equinox, which appears low on the horizon and has an orange hue.
The Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is known as one of the most beautiful gardens in Florida. The 83-acre property has been welcoming visitors for almost 90 years, and is an ever-changing showcase of tropical plants.
The lush green space includes towering palm trees, tropical fruits, ferns, vines, orchids and many other flowers. At certain times, guided tram rides allow visitors to get up close to flora and features such as a 500-foot rainforest waterfall.
The gardens host a number of annual special events each year, including the moon gazing, mango and orchid festivals, and a magical holiday light-up.
Administrators of attractions such as the gardens often use printing services to create their materials that provide the public with information about the displays.
Moonlight at Fairchild will be held Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 8 to 10:30 pm at the gardens at 10901 Old Cutler Road in Coral Gables.
