The Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce will be holding its Grand Centennial Gala toward the end of April.
The event will begin with a pre-show reception at the Miracle Theatre's Actors' Playhouse at 5:00 pm. "Greetings for Paradise" an original play set in 1925 about the early history of George Merrick and Miami, will begin at 6:00 pm. At 7:30 pm there will be a question-and-answer session with the play's author, June Thomson Morris.
A VIP black tie 1920's-themed dinner will conclude the evening. The dinner will take place along Miracle Mile beginning at 8:00 pm. Each part of the meal will be prepared by celebrity chefs. Dinner proceeds will go to the Friends of Gables Culinary Institute and the chamber’s Visitor Center.
Tickets for the show only will be $100, and tickets for the Centennial Gala and Show will be $650.
The gala will be the opening night for The Greetings from Paradise Coral Gables Centennial and the play will run from April 29th through May 2nd.
Cities that celebrate centennials often have pictures taken during the festivities. These photos then go to local Print shops to be added to visitor advertising campaigns and to city history annals.
This Chamber of Commerce Grand Centennial Gala will take place Tuesday, April 29th from 5:00 pm until midnight at the Actors' Playhouse, 280 Miracle Mile.
