La Glace to provide ice cream in Coral Gables

In the heat of a Florida summer, ice cream is in high demand, and a new Coral Gables store looks to capitalize on parched tongues.

The store, called La Glace, is the dream project of local paralegal and sweets lover Taj Handal, and has been in the works for years. The parlor’s menu includes flavors like almond-pistachio, black cherry, and New York cheesecake. The majority of the flavors are kosher, and vegan ice cream is also on offer, with options like salted caramel and pineapple soft serve. The menu also includes items like milkshakes and brioche ice cream sandwiches.

For its opening months La Glace will be focused on serving walk-through customers outdoors. Boutique and artisan ice cream shops have become popular recently with foodies looking for a high-end or just a little different take on a childhood favorite. These stores frequently use a playful look and name, social media outreach, and tools like flyer printing to set them apart. La Glace, with its pastel-colored Logo Design, creative food arrangement and slogan “French name you can’t pronounce but fresh ingredients you can”, looks to follow this path to success.

La Glace officially opened its location on the Miracle Mile in Coral Gables earlier this summer, and is now open from Tuesdays to Sundays during the afternoon and evening.
