Fairchild Garden to host French Horn Collective

This December will see an international jazz group visit Coral Gables to perform as part of Fairchild’s Garden “Date Night” series.

The group is the French Horn Collective, headed up by Vincent Raffard and including a dozen additional vocalists and musicians. The group has played everywhere from Miami to Paris, and plays a mixture of jazz, swing, and French Standards. The group on stage’s size varies from show to show, with six members confirmed to make an appearance in Coral Gables. The collective includes a saxophonist and a trombonist, but despite the name, no French horn players. The group have released two full albums, called Hot Club of Miami and Story D’Amour, and multiple EPs with a mixture of standards and original compositions.

As part of the Date Night series, the Collective concert will allow for a nighttime walk through the garden in the hour leading up to the concert beginning. The venue’s Glasshouse Cafe will provide food and beverages throughout the night. The outdoor event will provide lawn space for stretching out with a blanket or chairs from home. Outdoor concerts like this, often promoted through tools like banner printing, have become popular as a way to safely take in live music.

The French Horn Collective is set to perform on the evening of December 18 at the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden.
