Music at McBride Plaza, a downtown outdoor music series, is in full swing from now until the end of March.
The series is a group of five concerts, one of which will be given every other Thursday by members of the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music thanks to the Coral Gables Welcome Center, Arthur B. McBride Family Foundation, Dosal Family Foundation, and the City of Coral Gables.
The series begins next Thursday, January 25 with soul, funk, and R&B played by Puddley. The first concert in February will be a harp, viola, and flute trio called the Joyeux Trio on February 8, followed by the Noam Makeover Quartet playing jazz on February 22.
Ensembles, trios, and duets from the Thompson Voice Studio will be presented on March 7, and the Diva Revolution will perform disco, R&B, soul, and pop to round off the series on March 21.
These performances will give young musicians the chance to showcase their talent. The five groups have gone through a rigorous audition process to be selected for the series.
Music groups like these often take pictures of their concerts to local Print shops to be duplicated to be used with videos and tapes to get other performing gigs. All performances are from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at McBride Plaza, 150 Miracle Mile.
If the weather becomes inclement, the concerts will be moved into Barnes and Noble.
