Coral Gables plays pickleball for charity

Ronald McDonald House Charites will be holding its first Annual Pickleball Tournament coming in mid-October.

Mixed, 50+, doubles and singles brackets will be played on the venue's 20 courts, and entry fees will range from $125 for open to $75 for players with 3.0 ratings and below.

Friday night's schedule will be mixed doubles open, 4.5 and under, 4.0 and under, 3.0 and under and mixed doubles for ages 50+ with 4.0 and under ratings.

Saturday's agenda will include men's single open, mixed doubles for those with 3.5 ratings, men and women 50+ with 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5 ratings and men and women doubles for those players with 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5 ratings.

There is the potential of more than $20,000 in cash and prizes.

Spectators are invited to watch the players and donate $5 toward the Ronald McDonald House.

A party will be going on Saturday with raffles, games, prizes, a silent auction, food, goodie Bags, and activities.

Sponsors will be on-site getting their Logo Design out to the public and passing out information about their goods and services while local vendors will be selling merchandise.

Charity Pickleball in Coral Gables will be held Friday October 18th beginning at 6:30 pm and October 19th beginning at 8:30 am at the William H. Kerdyk Sr., Biltmore Tennis Center, 1180 Anastasia Avenue.
