Horticulture is a hobby that’s enjoyed by many, and a Washington area workshop will provide a variety of thrifty ways for enthusiasts to add more plants to their collection.
The learners in the “Plant Prorogation 101: Seeds, Cuttings and Clones “ class will learn how to use techniques to create new cultivars or just increase the number of plants they have. The methods taught can be used by just about anyone, and the function is being hosted by Plants Alive!.
The registrants will find out which plant propagation methods are right for a particular species or purpose, with an emphasis on cloning using techniques such as rooting cuttings. Seed saving, grafting and growing from seed will be discussed as well. The attendees will find out how they can use these to produce plants that are clones of their parents or even whole new hybrids and cultivars that haven’t been seen before.
Everyone who takes part will receive a plant to practice with, and they will go home with a root pouch and a plant of their choice. Tip sheets and care guides can be prepared for distribution in a workshop or other learning activity by local Stationery printers.
Plants Alive, which can be found at 15710 Layhill Road in Silver Springs will be offering this learning opportunity on June 5th. Everyone who is interested is welcome. Get a Free Quote for Stationery
