Washington arboretum schedules spring plant sale

Washington’s U.S. National Arboretum protects biodiversity and also serves to educate the public, and it will soon be helping to fill local gardens with color.

The Friends of the National Arboretum annual plant will be open to the public. Members of the group will get first choice, but after those, the gates will open to everyone.

The sale will offer a large variety of species, with perennials, annuals, trees and shrubs, and rare cultivars also available. This will be joined by a vendor village, which will offer the opportunity to shop from at least 25 local businesses. They will have a variety of horticulturally related items, and food and beverages will be in the mix as well, along with activities for the kids and a chance to access gardening advice. While pets are not permitted, service animals may attend.

Plant sales and garden markets often go ahead rain or shine, which means any signage used will need to be able to withstand the weather. A banner printing company can lend a hand, and will be able to offer both single-use and reusable styles.

This celebration of Washington's gardening scene will be offering shoppers a wide selection of choices this Saturday, April 25. Anyone who wants to find out more is asked to visit its web listing.
