Washington area workshop crafts with clay

Working with clay can be both relaxing and enjoyable, and an upcoming Washington area workshop will provide a chance to slow down, relax and craft a keepsake turtle.

Hand building techniques can be used to create both functional and decorative pieces, and instructor Diana Manchak will teach the basics of the craft. Each project will be unique, and the registration system for the activity will remain open until July 29th.

The learners will be working with stoneware clay, and they will craft the different pieces that will be put together to make their turtle. The knowledge and skills gained can be used for a wide assortment of other projects, and everyone can choose the glaze from the options provided. They will then be fired and made ready for pick up at a later date. The activity is intended for those age 13 and up, and old clothing or smocks are highly recommended. The session can accommodate up to 12 attendees.

People keep learning throughout their lives, and a workshop provides an opportunity for adults to pick up some new skills. A flyer printing company can be a helpful partner in spreading the word to the local area about an event.

Del Ray Artisans will be welcoming registrants for its turtle workshop on August 2nd. It will start at 6:00 pm at 2704 Mount Vernon Avenue in Alexandria.
