Washington workshop prepares bees for winter

Apiarists and hobby beekeepers alike may want to save the date for a class helping colonies make it through the winter.

The Bee CARE Institute at the Franciscan Monastery Garden Guild in Washington is offering a two-part workshop that will include 12 hours of learning from a professional, and it will introduce best fall management practices. There will also be a hands-on component to the classes, and its syllabus will cover several topics.

The intensive experience will include hive assessment Checks to prepare a colony for seasonal transitions, and managing diseases and pests before they get out of hand will also be on the agenda. Everyone will learn how to determine if their bees need an emergency feeding, and how to conduct this. Best practices for hive set up and insulation will round out the activity.

Whether a workshop provides basic introduction or a deep dive into a particular topic, it may benefit from professional printing services. They can supply everything from Copies of handouts to promotional Pens, and can work with many budget levels.

Washington’s beekeepers of all experience levels are encouraged to register for this learning opportunity. It will take place on Saturday, August 15th and continue on the following Saturday, August 22nd, running from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm each day. The registration fee to participate is $55.20.
