This Thanksgiving, the attendees in a Washington workshop will be able to present their guests with a pie they have prepared from scratch.
Early November will see a pie prep class suited to the beginner hosted in a local venue. Able to accommodate up to eight learners, the session will be hands-on, and everyone will walk away with a pastry dessert they have prepared themselves.
Students will learn the secrets of using butter, flour, and other ingredients to prepare a light and flaky pastry crust to fill. They will roll it out, place it in the pan, then crimp and bake it before adding the apple filling, which they will also prepare from scratch. Crowned with a crumble-style topping, it may be kept in the freezer or baked right away. Everyone will receive an apron to wear as well as refreshments to sip on, and recipe cards will be distributed as well.
A culinary workshop can be a fun way to learn both new techniques and recipes, and organizers may choose to order small Promotional Products for attendees. These can range from stickers to corkscrews printed with a company’s branding.
This introduction to the art and science of preparing an apple pie from scratch is scheduled for Saturday, November 8. Its location will be 1280 4th Street NE.
