Washington walk and resource fair to feature furry fun

A Washington event that will feature lots for furry fun will raise money in support of community-based suicide prevention programming, and the guestlist for the occasion will include some four-legged attendees.

Ben Brenman Park in Alexandria will be offering the public a barking good time when it hosts Paws for Prevention. Since interaction with companion animals has been shown to have a positive impact on mental health, these creatures will be the VIPs for the afternoon.

The plans developed for the day include doggy kissing booths and cuddle and comfort stations, and a resource fair and fundraising walk are also in the works. Anyone who would like to purchase honor beads can do so on site. A call has gone out seeking volunteers who would like to lend a hand, and anyone who is interested is asked to contact kmahoney@afsp.org.

To thank them for their support, everyone who raises at least $150 for the walk will receive a swag bag filled with gifts printed with the function's Logo Design. Promotional Products prepared for an occasion can perform double duty by helping to raise awareness of a cause each time they are used.

The 2023 Paws for Prevention Day will be held on May 20. Additional information about the walk, resource fair and other activities can be obtained on its website.
