Tasteful weekend ahead near D.C.

For those close to Washington, D.C., and looking for a food and wine event this weekend, Taste of Greater Springfield will be offering a variety of dishes, wines, and craft beers for attendees.

A selection of 21 of the restaurants around the Greater Springfield area will be offering samples from their Menus, as well as Brochures and Flyers that offer more information about the restaurants themselves. Local distributers will also offer craft beer and wine tastings. Ticket sales for the event will support the Rotary Club of West Springfield, Virginia.

Last year, more than 60 dishes were offered, sampling some of the best Italian, Irish, and American cuisine in the area. Many restaurants also presented dessert options to attendees. Visitors enjoyed watching chefs cook right in front of them. Some attendees got some of their Christmas shopping completed, choosing Gift Certificates for restaurants, as well as dressing and drink mixes. The event is family friendly.

Tickets may be purchased online for the Taste of Greater Springfield event. When purchased before the event, food tickets for adults are $30, whereas at the door they will be $40. Children from 6 to 12 are $10, and children under six years old are free. Drink tickets will be sold at the door only, for $10. The TOGS event will be held at The Waterford Springfield on November 1, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
