Festival welcomes authors and booksellers to DC

The 5th annual Literary Hill Book Fest is taking place next month in Washington, DC.

There will be talks from many authors, both national and local. Some of those who will be appearing at this year's festival include Nick Auclair, Louis Bayard, Karen Branan, and J. N. Childress. It will also feature a showcase of local writers and poets. The public will have the opportunity to meet many of these penmen in person.

Vendors will be on hand to provide products for sale or information about their services. They will include booksellers, publishers, and libraries. No doubt several local literary organizations will also be there to let them know what they have to offer for writers and readers alike.

There will also be a number of family activities during the day. One special event will be Poets’ Corner which will take place at nearby Tunnicliff's Tavern. There will be readings from some well-known poets, which will be followed by open-mic poetry for anyone who wishes to participate.

It is likely that many of the vendors who hope to get some new customers will invest in services such as sign or banner printing from Washington Print companies.

The Literary Hill Book Fest will be held at the Eastern Market, North Hall on May 1. To learn more, or to volunteer, call 202-546-7231.
