Often compared to the significance in U S history of Ellis Island in New York, The Smithsonian in Washington D.C. has announced its plans for this year’s Fourth of July.
The Smithsonian Folklife Festival honors the limitless cultures of the world. Known for cultural diversity, Americans take part in order to show support of the immigrant history and evolution of their country.
The festival will take place on Independence Day at the National Mall. Cooking demonstrations, foreign fashions, and international dancing will be featured at the festival. The National Mall is found along the banks of the Potomac River encompassing two miles of land. The U S Capitol is east of the venue with the Washington Monument found to the west.
The Smithsonian museums found within the National Mall area include the National Museum of Natural History, National Museum of American Indian, The Smithsonian Castle, and the National Museum of American History.
Along with the Smithsonian Folklife Festival on the 4th of July will be the National Independence Day Parade. It will start at 11:45 am along Constitutional Avenue.
Poster printing is a good method of communicating upcoming events like this. The Posters are highly visible when mounted in area of high traffic and footfall.
