Turkeys run for fun
Runners, walkers, and trotters are invited to don Thanksgiving costumes and attend the 12th Annual Harbor Point Turkey Trot 5K Fun Run on Thanksgiving morning.
The event will be a free untimed fun run with check-in beginning at 7.30am. The race will kick-off at 8.00pm. Since this will be a rain-or-shine event participants need to dress for the weather. The event will be cancelled, however, if we get thunderstorms.
The run will benefit Person-to-Person, a Fairfield County non-profit organization that provides one mobile food delivery, a number of food pantries, clothing, emergency financial assistance, summer camperships, and college scholarships to residents in need.
Racers are asked to bring at least one non-perishable food item for the mobile Stamford food pantry.
Monetary donations are also welcome. For every donation over $5, the donor’s name will be entered in the Harbor Point Turkey Trot Raffle. The winner will get a Harbor Point Restaurant $100 gift card.
Adult runners must pre-register ad sign online waivers. Children and teens under 18 years old must have their legal guardian or parent RSVP and sign the waiver for them.
Photos of costumed runners at events such as this not only go online on Instagram and Twitter, but to local print shops to be made into duplicates for family and friends.
