Stamford Palace Theatre holds yearly gala
The Palace Theatre here in Stamford will be presenting its 13th Annual Gala in mid-May.
The evening will start with a pre-show cocktail party. Guests will be treated to hearty small plates provided by Marica Selden Catering, themed cocktails, and a silent auction. Guests may opt to rent disco costumes at discount prices and enter a contest for the best disco dressed guest. Music for the pre-show party will be provided by DJ Tommy Carlucci and attendees will get to meet Kool and the Gang. The disco decor will be curated by Lux Poppin'.
American Music Award and Grammy Award winners Kool and the Gang will begin their performance at 8:00 pm. The audience will no doubt look forward to the group's iconic hits such as Jungle Boogie and Celebration.
Early in their careers, bands like this often go to local print shops to have the shop create a logo to put on merchandise to be sold on the band's website.
Proceeds from the gala will go to the Stamford Center for the Arts and local arts education programs.
Individual disco fan tickets will be $400, and sponsorships begin at $800 for a pair of prime orchestra seat tickets. The five other sponsorships begin at the $1,600 Hollywood Swingin' level and go up to the $10,000 Celebration level.
