United Way of Coastal & Western Connecticut will be holding its annual United in Impact Soiree, a fundraiser, here in Stamford in mid-June.
The event will honor Executive Board President to Stamford Cradle to Career and President of the Ferguson Library, Alice Knapp. Knapp has had leadership roles at both the New Canaan Library and the Ferguson Library, and has been the recipient of professional honors including the ALA Sullivan Award and the recognition from the Library Journal Movers & Shakers. She is also actively involved in civic organizations such as World Affairs Forum, Rotary Club, and Stamford Partnership.
The theme for the evening will be 1920s "Prohibition Chic" speakeasy. Women are encouraged to don sequins, fringes, beads, and possibly feathers while men may wear sports coats or blazers, dress shoes, and collared shirts.
The festivities will include cocktails, dinner, and time for a little community networking. Businesspeople that attend events like this are usually well supplied with Business Cards in case they meet potential clients.
General admission tickets are $250 per guest, while tables for six will be available for $1,800. Proceeds from the evening will go to supporting ALICE families (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) in Litchfield and Fairfield Counties.
This year's United in Impact Soiree will take place on Wednesday, June 10 at the Village Stamford, 4 Star Point, Suite 101 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
