Stamford theater announces May schedule

The Palace Theatre in Stamford will be presenting a world-renowned violinist, a Chinese cultural event, and a tribute band during the first part of May.

Grammy-award winning classical violinist Joshua Bell will be performing on May 3 beginning at 3:00 pm. Tickets will range from $39 to $129.

Soon after, the Traditional Culture Reviving Center, Inc. will present Shen Yun, capturing the essence of China's ancient culture through classical dance, authentic costumes, picturesque backdrops, and stories depicting legends and myths. Original scores are performed on a blend of Western and Eastern instruments.

Shen Yun will take place from May 7 through 10 with tickets ranging from $114 to $218.

On Friday, May 15, Leonid & Friends will take to the stage recreating the vocals, horn lines, and rhythms of the iconic band Chicago. A band of 11 musicians hailing from Moscow, instrumentation will include keyboard, drums, bass, guitars, and a sax, trombone, and trumpet horn section. Occasionally, a cello, flute, violin, French horn, or flugelhorn may make an appearance.

Leonid & Friends will take the stage at 8:00 pm and tickets will run from $64 to $89.

The Stamford Palace Theatre is located at 61 Atlantic Street. Theaters like this usually arrange their scheduled well in advance so they have enough time to get programs printed at nearby Print shops.
