Stamford lists outdoors events

The first Stamford Common Ground Music and Craft Festival of the summer and the SRC 5k /10k /Half Mile will be coming to Stamford in mid-April.

This first of three summer multi-day Stamford Common Ground Music and Craft Festivals will feature local talent, music and crafts.

Small businesses and crafters will be selling handmade items including self-care products, accessories, art, goods and jewelry. Local food vendors will be hawking specialty items like artisanal beverages, treats and gourmet snacks. A blend of regional and local musicians will be performing.

The Samford Common Ground Music and Craft Festival will take place on Bedford Street, Saturday, April 18th and Sunday, April 19th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Admission will be free.

That morning The Stamford Run Club will be hosting the SRC 3k/10k/ Half Marathon. The 5k will be a fast, flat downtown loop which will be ideal for families and beginners. The 10k will add a second downtown segment. The Half Marathon will be a multi-loop-course including downtown, Harbor Point waterfront and Mill River. This marathon will be the first one here in Stamford in more than 30 years.

The start/finish area will feature music, sponsor tents and recover and water stations. The family-friendly atmosphere will include photo opportunities at the carousel.

Spectators at events like this often get some banner printing done beforehand to support their favorite runners.

The SRC 5ki/10k/ Half Marathon will take place at Mill River Park, April 19th beginning at 8:00 am.
