Stamford takes a holiday stroll and festive train ride

The Holiday Stroll and Holiday Wish Express will return this year, following Thanksgiving.

The Holiday Stroll will be a path lighted with larger-than-life illuminations and Christmas displays.

A 30-foot Christmas tree will be adorned with sparkling lights, and three-dimensional ornaments synchronized to holiday music.

Christmas Village fire pits surrounding the tree will help skaters warm up after enjoying the skating rink. Doughnuts, cider, and marshmallow-laden hot cocoa will be some of the treats on offer by local vendors. A 16-foot Gingerbread House and a candy cane arch will provide colorful backdrops for family photos.

Family photographs taken at events like this can be taken to local Stationery printers to make personalized Christmas cards or Calendars.

Adult tickets will be available in one-hour time slots for $20, and kids under 10 years old can enter for free.

This year’s Stamford Holiday Stroll theme will be “Drive to Give,” and once a week a deserving Stamford family will receive $1000 and tickets to the Stroll.

The All-New Holiday Stroll begins November 24 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, and will take place on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays until December 24. It can be found at Mill River Park, 1010 Washington Boulevard.

Holiday Wish Express will begin taking passengers on an interactive train ride to the “North Pole” on November 18 and subsequent weekends until Christmas Eve.

Adult admission will be $35, and children’s tickets will be $25.

The Holiday Wish Express is located at the Stamford Town Center, 100 Greyrock Place.
