Stamford Downtown offers signature summer events

Downtown Stamford will be holding its traditional events in May and June.

Outdoor fitness classes will begin May 10 and run until August 29. The Zumba, yoga, and Bootcamp will be free. Monday classes will be Afro R&B Heat; Tuesdays’ will be Bootcamp; Thursdays’ and Saturdays’ will be yoga, and Fridays will focus on Zumba – all at 6:00 pm. Sundays’ classes will be Total Body Conditioning at 1:00 pm.

Also, Bedford Street will have its yearly Arts and Crafts on Bedford on June 12. From 10:00 am until 6:30 pm, local and regional artists will be vending their handcrafted items. Artists appearing at events like this often have Business Cards available for anyone wanting to contact them at a later date.

Spring Street will open its Farmer Market on Saturdays beginning June 12 from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. Local growers will be selling vegetables, fruits, and flowers, while others will be offering jams, bread, cheeses, and baked goods.

Stamford will join over 800 cities worldwide in celebrating music on June 21. Make Music Stamford Downtown will explore all kinds of music played by local professional, amateur, old, and young music makers in cafes, parks, and streets.

Lastly, Stamford’s Dogtopia will be holding its annual Bark in the Park on June 27 from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm. Activities will include agility course, photo booth, microchip clinic, licensing, and trick and costume contests. Admission will be free, but donated items will be welcomed and then given to local pet rescue programs.
