Stamford celebrates Valentines Day
Stamford sweethearts may make the most of Valentine’s Day this year by attending either the Date Night Arts Show or the performance of Connecticut Ballet’s Be My Valentine.
Love is in the Air – a date night art show – will be a charity event benefiting LOVE 146. The event will display original artwork from local artists including Oksi, Devin Longa, and Michael Lombardi that may be purchased that evening. Other perks will include cuisine from local caterers, live music, and drinks. Tickets will be $20 and are available at the door and online.
Date Night Art Show: Love is in the Air will take place Thursday, February 9 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the 70 S. Main Street, Norwalk.
Also, Connecticut Ballet will present Be My Valentine, an evening of contemporary and classical love duets. Artistic director Brett Raphael has chosen a program ranging from the “Romeo & Juliet Balcony Pas de Deux” and “New York City Serenade” by Raphael to “Full Moon” by Springsteen and Lynne Taylor-Corbett. Tickets range from $50 to $80, and for an additional $5, guests may attend the after-party onstage with the dancers. There everyone can dance with the dancers, enjoy champagne toasts, and receive roses. Required attire will be business casual dress and red is encouraged.
Connecticut Ballet’s Be My Valentine will take place Monday, February 13 at the Palace Theatre, 61 Atlantic Street beginning at 7:30pm.
Stationery printers often use pictures taken from ballet scenes for their Valentine’s Day cards.
