Stamford celebrates holiday season with rappelling Santa

Mill River Park is presently having The All-New Holiday Stroll, and Reckson will be presenting its Annual Heights and Lights Rappelling Santa and Tree Lighting in early December.

Santa Claus, Grinch, Rudolph, and friends will be making daredevil descents down 22 stories of Landmark Square. Afterwards Downtown Stamford will have fireworks. Santa and friends will then lead the parade to Latham Park for the for Stamford’s Holiday Tree Lighting and holiday music.

Heights and Lights will be Sunday, December 4 beginning at 5:00 pm.

Mill River Park is having The All-New Holiday Stroll. Guests walk through a winter wonderland of illuminated interactive displays including a 16-foot gingerbread house, larger-than-life 3D ornaments, and giant dazzling spangled stars. The Blind Rhino Winter Beer Garden will be offering cider, brews, wine, and other seasonal treats for guests over 21.

Christmas Village will provide a show of lights and sound every half hour at the 30-foot Interactive Christmas Tree. Food vendors will have cider, hot chocolate, doughnuts, and other seasonal favorites available for purchase. Carnival rides including the Red Baron and Dizzy Dragon will be available for the younger guests.

The Holiday Stroll has been taking place since November 18 and will run through December 24 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursdays through Sundays. It will benefit a pediatric cancer organization, Connor’s Cure.
