Families get introduction to mud runs
Stamford families are invited to Your First Mud Run coming in early October. It will have challenges for the more experienced participants, as well as easier obstacles for the newbies.
The course will be a double loop that will total two miles. Most of the route will be on grass but some areas will traverse small hills and gravel.
Along the course there will between 12 and 16 obstacles. Along with the adult-sized ones, there will be smaller barriers for the children. Children between ages 5 and 12 must be accompanied by parents or guardians, and kids over 12 can run solo if they choose. The races will not be timed.
Although showers will not be available, there will plenty of rinse off stations. Waves begin at 10:00 am and continue every half an hour until 11:30 am.
Bare bones registration (without T-shirt or finisher medal) will be $39.50, all-in registration will be $47.50, and those who want the choice of running in as many waves as they want pay $57.50. All of these option come with a sign-up fee of between $3 and $5.
Swag includes finishers’ T-shirts featuring the Mud Race’s brown, green, and orange event graphic design, and finisher medals.
