Downtown Stamford holds first DINKO de Mayo pickleball tournament

Pickleball American in Downtown Stamford will be holding its first ever DINKO de Mayo Tournament and ESPN NY Celebrity Pickleball Match in early May.

All play will be in a pool-play format.

Play for both Men's doubles and Women doubles players with lower level 3.5 to 3.9 ratings will begin at 9:00 am followed by mixed doubles with games for players with 3.0-3.4, 3.5-3.9 and 4.0 + ratings beginning at 2:00 pm. The intermediate 4.0 and above men's doubles and women's doubles will begin at 5:00 pm.

A special Celebrity Match will be held from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm with former NY Giants Amani Toomer and TV and Radio personality Anita Marks vying against Former NY Islander Rick Dipietro and Radio personality Dave Rothenberg.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Mental Health Awareness Month and NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness) Southwest.

Early registration is $95 per individual, $190 per team and higher at the door. Each admission guarantees at least four games.

When businesses hold inaugural events like this, they usually have pictures taken during the activities. These photos are often taken to local Print shops either for duplicates to put up in the businesses' other locations or put into future advertising materials.

The first ever Dinko De Mayo Pickleball Tournament will take place at Pickleball America (in the Stamford Town Center Mall), 140 Atlantic Street from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm Sunday, May 5th.
