The Ukrainian American Sport Center is once again bringing Ukrainian folk art, music, dance and song to our area in a couple of weeks. The Ukraine’s culture and commitment to its national identity will be celebrated in the festival’s theme – United Ukraine; United with US.
Dances that will capture the essence of the Ukraine will be in the powerful rhythms of the “HOPAK” mixed with the “Kolomiyka” or polka. Singers will be crooning soulful folk songs. The schedule includes dance ensembles, violinists, soloists, reenactments of Ukraine history and a chamber choir.
Newtown families will also enjoy the concession stands that will be offering authentic ethnic foods in the Vendor’s Grove area and children will get to enjoy games and activities in the Children’s Fun Area.
The event will open with live music and dancing. The afternoon will feature an outdoor festival concert in the park. Later in the day there will be a “Zabava” or social dance that will have live music by Vox Ethnika.
The center may want to have a photographer on hand to take pictures for Brochures or possible Stationery printing.
The event is scheduled for August 28th from 12:00 pm until 8:00 at TRYZUB Ukrainian American Sport Center at the crossroads of County Line and Lower State Roads in Horsham.
