For Newtown locals who don’t mind getting a little dirty, or those who want to support them, it’s time to start preparing for the annual MuckFest.
The upcoming messy 5K run/walk obstacle race of sorts is designed to provide a lot of laughs and overall fun for everyone, all while raising funds to help those living with Multiple Sclerosis and to find a cure.
The objective of the MuckFest is not really to win, but simply to get through the course in a way that is as fun as possible. There are a multitude of obstacles, and as the name implies, there is plenty of mud.
Event coordinators suggest that the best way to do the MuckFest is as part of a team, but those who wish to participate need to register for a fee. Families of participants might want to consider having banner printing done for setting up at the finish line. There will be a cleanup area at the end of the course so that participants can hose down before chowing down.
Nonparticipants are also invited to come watch the action, and of course to have a laugh at the competitors’ expense.
This year’s MuckFest will take place this weekend, May 30 and 31, at Ellis Preserve, 3855 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, Newtown.
