Newtown history buffs will soon have an opportunity to attend The Newtown Historic Association’s (NHA) Spring Cocktail Party.
The Court Inn will be decked out for spring with flowers and will offer hors d'oeuvres designed especially for the occasion. Proceeds for the event will go towards the preservation of the building and its contents.
The association is asking participants to bring a dessert or an appetizer, and to come with a friend. The admission fee will be $35 per person and the event should prove to be an excellent opportunity for picture taking, the results of which would make lovely inserts for Stationery printing.
This historic building not only has a reception area in which the party will be held but also rooms that have been renovated to resemble those common in the 1700s. The upper floor houses the Research Center, the Edward Hicks Collection and the Barnsley room of Newtown History. The mission of the NHA is to preserve, celebrate and to stimulate interest in Newtown’s township and borough. Its research center has amassed materials from the local area covering the years between 1725 and 1813.
The party will be held Saturday, April 26, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the Half-Moon Inn as it was called in the mid-18th century, although it is known as the Court Inn today.Get a Free Quote for Stationery
