Newtown’s Ancient Order of Hibernians. Division 2 will be holding its annual ‘Halfway-to-St. Patrick’s-Day’ Celtic Kilt Tilt 6K Run, 1.916k Walk, and Fall Fest in a few days.
Proceeds from the event will go toward $1,000 scholarships that will be awarded to deserving middle and high school students.
The course for this event will be around the venue on unpaved roads and through fields. Runners are encouraged to wear their kilts.
All racers will receive timing services, refreshments at the start and finish lines, and water at the stops along the course. The first 200 entrants will receive Race Day shirts and finishers’ medallions.
There will be a post-race awards ceremony where custom-designed medals will be presented to the top three finishers overall, and in each gender and age group.
The Fall Fest will follow. Kids will get to see live animals and play lawn games. Food vendors will be onsite, and prizes will be awarded for costumes. Winners may wish to have pictures taken for later poster printing.
The festivities will be at Shadybrook Farm, 931 Stony Hill Road I-95 and Rt 332, Yardley on September 17. Registration and packet pickup will begin at 10:00 am.
The 1.916 K Easter Rising Memorial Walk will begin at 10:30 am, and the Brian Boru 6K Run will start at 11:00 am. The Fall Fest will also begin at 11:00 am.
