Newtown Theatre to host drink-tasting event
The second annual Newtown Holiday Cocktail Trail will take place this November.
During the event, participants can visit 15 different shops in Newtown Borough. Each participating store will be serving a sample-size holiday-themed cocktail. The trail will start at the Newtown Theatre, where attendees can pick up their event passports and commemorative drink glasses. The passports will list all of the stops on the route and any special sales the stores are having. Event planners often work with print shops to create this type of item.
Tickets are on sale on the Newtown Theatre’s website. The cost is $45 plus a $3.49 processing fee. All participants need to be 21 or older and show their photo ID when checking in. Attendees cannot bring children. Lunch is not included, but the trail route passes several local restaurants. The event will take place rain or shine, so appropriate dress is required and attendees are advised to wear comfortable shoes. Free parking is available on State Street and in nearby municipal lots.
Proceeds from the event will support the Newtown Theatre. The 230-seat space was originally built in 1831 as a town hall and gathering spot. It now presents a mix of concerts, movies and live theater.
