The Autism Cares Foundation will hold an event at the Bucks County Community College in Newtown to support those with autism.
The Autism Cares Foundation Race 4 Resources is a community festival with several activities for athletes and casual participants. The event includes a 5K race, a single-mile walk, and an expo that showcases organizations with resources for those with autism. There will also be an activity for children called the Race of Aces, which involves challenges like a ping pong toss and an egg-and-spoon race. Food for the event will be provided by Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Outback Steakhouse, and Bonefish Grill.
The Autism Cares Foundation was formed by Linda and Frank Kuepper in 2007. The organization aims to enrich the lives of people with autism by giving them enriching experiences and a strong support network. The foundation has held more than 1,000 activities and supported 9,000 individuals. The organization also created the Adults Services Program to help adults with disabilities hone their skills in a relaxed environment.
The foundation’s race for resources will be held on Saturday, May 6 at 8:00 am. The cost to participate in the 5K or the mile walk is $45 per person, though discounts will be given to people who register before April 28. Organizations that benefit from 5Ks like this may use flyer printing for advertising their events.
