Newtown film fest to honor classic comedy trio

The Newtown Theatre will hold an annual event in April to honor the Three Stooges.

The Three Stooges Film Fest is an activity where fans can watch five classic shorts starring the trio. The host for the festival is Michelle Squiccimara, the registrar and outreach coordinator for The Stoogeum museum. The venue will sell canned cocktails, beer, and wine before the shorts begin. All guests are asked to bring a physical or electronic copy of their ticket to the fest. Each ticket sale is final, and all tickets are for general admission to the event.

The Stoogeum is a museum that collects and preserves memorabilia from the Three Stooges series. The three-story venue houses about 100,000 pieces of Stooge-related materials, including artifacts that date back to 1918. The building is also home to the Three Stooges Fan Club. Visitors to the museum will see movie Posters, costumes, and props during their visit. There are also interactive displays at the attraction, like the Three Stooges arcade game.

The film festival will be held on Sunday, April 2 from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Doors will open at 1:00 pm. General admission will cost $20 per person, though members of the Newtown Theatre can join for $15. All members must have their cards with them when entering the theatre. Businesses that hold film fests like this may use Print shops to promote their screenings to locals.
